Description
A large bushy shrub or small tree with dense grey green foliage and a slightly weepy crown. The leaves are narrow with a lighter underside.
Its bark, is a striking grey which is roughly grooved, flaky and sometimes twisted in appearance.
The flowers are tiny, creamy-white clusters at the end of the branches which give off a strong honey scent.
Natural Habitat
Widespread across the country, it is found in the bushveld, along dry forest margins and hillsides, wooded grasslands and among the coastal bush species.
Use in Landscape
Because it varies between a small tree and a shrub, it can be used for multiple purposes which include: hedging, screening, as windbreakers, specimen trees and in containers.
