Description
A fast-growing, large, rounded shrub. Its stem is silver dark-grey and chunky with shiny green oval succulent leaves.
It flowers masses of tiny star-shaped pale pink flowers throughout winter which attract finer wildlife (bees, beetles and butterflies).
Natural Habitat
Rocky slopes, sheltered ravines and along rivers. Naturally found in Kwa-Zulu Natal, the western to the south-eastern Cape and even the Little Karoo.
Use in Landscape
Crassula works well for dry areas in a design as a specimen , in a mixed bed or as an informal low to medium hedge. Crassula works well in pots and containers. The shrub is very water-wise, wind resistant and copes well in coastal conditions.
