Description
Succulent medium to large shrub which is naturally multi-stemmed. Its fleshy light-green leaves are excellent for air purification. Flowers are small, star shaped, pink to purple and are arranged in multi-branchlets.
Natural Habitat
Hot and dry areas which include the Karoo, bushveld and any rocky place.
Use in Landscape
Used on its own as specimens or in mass plantings either as hedges or in an informal bed. Portulacaria work well in containers. They are great to use in areas to prevent erosion and they are one of the most effective carbon fixing plants.
